A body towel which uses raw silk with sericin, grown in Gunma Prefecture. Sericin is a natural protein found in silk and has a composition that is very close to the human skin. It has antioxidant properties and is rich in amino acids. By retaining sericin in silk, it has a more crispy texture and is very good to help moisturizing skin.
The body towel has a net-like woven pattern with air pockets, which helps with foaming when applying soap. It comes packaged in a sturdy and elegant gift box.

Gunma prefecture is part of the old Joshu province and historically boasts the largest domestic silk production volume in Japan. Joshu silk is highly regarded and Miyama aims to retain the knowledge and traditions by working only with locally developed strands and producers.
The silk used - Gunma 200 - was developed in Gunma Prefecture and is produced at the Usui Silk Mill in Annaka City. Raw silk has less glossiness and no chemicals or preservatives like formalin are used in the production.

Miyama Zenori is based in Midori City, Gunma Prefecture. It was established in 1955 as a manufacturer of initially rayon and nylon products. It began developing high quality silk products in 1995 and focuses on body towels and scrubs.
