The KAKURI 'Katsuo' Bonito Shaver is a premium and refined version of one of Japan's essential kitchen tools. It is made by hand from red Japanese oak, with a blade made from blue paper steel and a soft iron layer.

The size is compact and it is designed to be placed directly above a small plate or bowl. This means it can be used directly at the table, whether at home or in a restaurant, to shave katsuoboshi  (bonito flakes), or slice other types of cured meat or hard vegetables.

The cutting block with blade can easily be removed to clean, and it also has a wooden lid to protect the blade when not in use.
