Rice Cooking Workshop - 4 December 2021
Join WAZA and Sepial Shim at allium restaurant on 4 December 2021 for a Rice Cooking Workshop.
Participants will be given a brief introduction to Japanese rice and its significance in Japanese cuisine, followed by a cooking demonstration and some tips and tricks for cooking rice.
Each participant will then make their own onigiri (rice balls) with different fillings and flavourings, after which these will be grilled on Japanese shichirin / hibachi (table top grills) using Kishu binchotan (Japanese charcoal).
The cost of the workshop includes all rice and additional foods which will be served to accompany the onigiri.
Participants will be asked beforehand to confirm their dietary preferences. Menu options include: Meat, Pescatarian, Vegan.
What is provided:
- Rice and food ingredients to make onigiri;
- Notes on preparing rice;
- Various side dishes to accompany the onigiri;
- All tools and equipment.
Drinks are excluded from the price. allium offers non-alcoholic beverages like ice teas, as well as wine, beer and shōchū on its menu. Recommendations on parings will be made as part of the workshop.

- No prescribed items required.

A: Yes, all tickets need to be ordered and paid for upfront, since this is a very popular workshop.
