kata kata
kata kata is a fun and colourful brand of printed dyed cloth made by Takeshi Matsunaga and Chie Takai. They use katazome and chusen print techniques. The furoshiki range is made in the chusen style, which involves eight distinct steps. The key element is using stencils to apply designs and dye colours.
As the creators state: "Our inspiration comes from the beauty of the natural world around us. Each piece we create has its own unique story. Our goal is to spark imagination and conversation through our one of a kind handmade products."
