Ginger Grater
The Shōga Oroshi (しょうがおろし) is a a traditional ginger grater made by Oyanagi Sangyō in Tsubame–Sanjo, Niigata Prefecture. The fine-toothed surface allows smooth grating of ginger, daikon, garlic, or wasabi to a soft, aromatic paste. Designed for control and comfort, this tool helps extract maximum flavour for sauces, marinades, or condiments. Compact, easy to wash, and hand-crafted in Japan.

Instructions for use
- Hold this product firmly and grate slowly.
- Rotate the ingredient slightly as you grate to ensure even texture.
- For thinly shaped sections, grate with the narrower side facing down.
- Produces fine shavings ideal for ginger, wasabi, or radish to accompany dishes such as grilled fish, rice bowls, and hotpots.
Washing instructions
- Remove small pieces of food matter.
- Wash by hand in soapy water and dry well.
- Do not soak for a prolonged time.
- Do not place in a dishwasher.
