Houjicha roasted green tea from Shizuoka Prefecture in Japan. The evening blend is perfect for enjoying a relaxing cup of tea at the end of the day. The tea leaves used are Makinohara and Tenryu stem tea. Roasted tea has a low caffeine content and is recommended before going to bed. It has a mellow, gentle scent and subtle aroma.

Available in two types:

  • Loose leaf tea (30g)
  • Tea bags (10 silk tea bags of 3g each)

Available in two packaging options (tea volume is the same as above):

  • Tea tin (68mm diameter x 102mm height)
  • Refill pouch

HOW TO PREPARE HOUJICHA:

Loose leaf tea

  1. Add 1 heaped teaspoon (approximately 8g) of tea leaves into a teapot
  2. Pour about 150ml of  boiling water (100 °C) into the teapot (Use water that have been filtered with Kishu binchotan, or if tap water was used, let it boil for more than 5 minutes or more for better flavour)
  3. Cover the teapot and wait for 30 seconds
  4. Pour the tea into a tea cup and enjoy.

Tea bag

  1. Place 1 tea bag in a an empty tea cup
  2. Pour about 150ml of  boilng water (100 °C) into the cup (Use water that have been filtered with Kishu binchotan, or if tap water was used, let it boil for more than 5 minutes or more for better flavour)
  3. Wait 30 seconds for the tea to steep
  4. Remove the tea bag after gently lifting it up and down a few times. It is fine to gently press it with a spoon before taking out.
  5. Enjoy your cup of tea.
