HOW TO PREPARE SENCHA:

Loose leaf tea

  1. Add 1 teaspoon (approximately 5g) of tea leaves into a teapot
  2. Pour about 130ml of  hot water (70-90 °C) into the teapot (Use water that have been filtered with Kishu binchotan, or if tap water was used, let it boil for more than 5 minutes or more for better flavour)
  3. Cover the teapot and wait for 60 seconds
  4. Pour the tea into a tea cup and enjoy.

When it is brewed at low temperature, you can enjoy an added umami taste and when brewed at high temperate the aroma is stronger. It is possible to make a second brew, by brewing the same tea leaves at a higher temperature for 90 - 120 seconds.

Tea bag

  1. Place 1 tea bag in a an empty tea cup
  2. Pour about 130ml of  hot water (70-90 °C) into the cup (Use water that have been filtered with Kishu binchotan, or if tap water was used, let it boil for more than 5 minutes or more for better flavour)
  3. Wait 60 seconds for the tea to steep
  4. Remove the tea bag after gently lifting it up and own a few times. It is fine to gently press it with a spoon before taking out.
  5. Enjoy your cup of tea.
