Shoji Paste - One-Touch - 150g
Asahipen's one-touch shoji paste, shōji-nori (障子のり), in a squeeze pack with a guide nozzle, so the paste goes straight onto the frame neatly and quickly, without a brush.
It is a starch paste with an anti-mould agent, made without formalin, and rated F☆☆☆☆ under Japan's Building Standards Act, the lowest formaldehyde-emission class, so it can be used indoors without restriction. A 150g container covers about four shoji doors.
It is for paper. It cannot be used for plastic shoji sheet fixed with double-sided tape, or for iron-on or self-adhesive fusuma paper, and may not hold on some plastic or aluminium frames. Before papering, remove the old paper, wipe away old paste and let the frame dry fully. After use, seal the pack and store it out of direct sun and away from temperatures of 5 °C or below.
