Japan Travel Advice
Independent, experience-based guidance for planning your own trip to Japan.
A WAZA travel advisory session is a one-on-one conversation for travellers who want to plan their own journey thoughtfully and sidestep the common pitfalls. We're not a travel agency – we don't sell packages, take commissions, or make bookings on your behalf. What we offer is context, perspective, and honest feedback, drawn from more than two decades of travelling in Japan and our ongoing work with Japanese regions and craftspeople.
The session runs around 90 minutes, in person at our Cape Town store or online, and is shaped around how far you've got and what interests you: routing and pacing, when and where to go by season, getting around, the kinds of places to stay, and what's realistic in the time you have. It doesn't end when the first meeting does – informal follow-up by email or WhatsApp, as your plans take shape, is part of the service.
Sessions are R500, payable afterwards.
To get started, tell us a little about your plans for visiting Japan below. We keep our diary flexible, so the form is the quickest way to reach us. Once submitted, we will be in touch to arrange a time that suits all parties.
