Shoji Tape - Double-Sided - For Plastic Shoji
Double-sided tape for fixing super-strong plastic shoji sheets, or coated washi sheets to wooden or aluminium shoji frames.
The tape is made only for plastic or non-paper sheets; shoji paper is fixed with paste instead. The two rolls cover about two shoji doors of four columns by eight rows without a kick panel. Some frames have bars narrower than 5mm, so check the width of the bars before buying, and check the length needed if your doors have more bars.
Prepare the frame by removing old paper, paste and remover, sanding with about #200 paper until flat, and letting it dry. Tape all the vertical bars, then the horizontal bars, peel the backing a row at a time and roll the sheet out taut, pressing from the centre outwards. The tape does not stick well below 10 °C, so warm the room before starting and keep it warm for a while afterwards. To remove the sheet later, warm a corner with a hairdryer and peel the sheet and tape away together.
