The TechDraw2 features a 4mm protruding guide pipe and step head design - the guide pipe keeps the tip visible during close work, and the stepped shoulder of the cone creates a clear line of sight to the paper rather than obscuring it. These are drafting-specific details that separate a technical pencil from a general-purpose one. The conical tip also features a shorter, rounded shoulder to minimise lateral stress on the lead and reduce breakage.
The body is aluminium with brass components, offering durability and refined weight balance. The barrel is slightly thicker than its predecessor, which improves grip stability during extended sessions without making the pen feel heavy. The knurled grip extends lower toward the cone for a secure, fatigue-resistant hold. At 19g it is substantial in hand without being tiring. The silver finish is clean and unadorned.
