Seven Seas CROSSFIELD
The Seven Seas CROSSFIELD notebook by Watanabe Bookbinding in Tokyo is described as "a notebook born for a fountain pen". Using Tomoe River paper, a superior and lightweight paper which is strong and durable, reduces ink bleeding, yet is very thin, it is ideal for people who use a variety of ink pens and still want to carry a portable notebook that doesn't bleed.
Size: A5 (210mm×148mm)
- Colour: Matcha
- Lines: 7mm square grid lines
- Cover: Binding cloth used for academic books
- Pages: 384 pages
- Paper: Tomoe River
Each notebook is sewn using Lay-flat Binding, thereby allowing it to be easy to write on. The thin paper used means the full 384-page book opens smoothly, without being bulky.
Now in its third generation, Watanabe Bookbinding was established after WWII in 1946 when the first generation Yoshikichi Watanabe, who had worked in the bookbindery industry since a young age, was supported to open a business by a customer. The company flourished and to this day some of the original tools and equipment used at the time is still in use. Watanabe Bookbinding specialises in the daily production of academic books, museum catalogues and premium notebooks, all of which require a high degree of precision in bookbinding.
