Anvil style secateurs offer a flat surface for applying pressure when cutting, combined with a sharp single bevel cutting edge to cut a branch or stem cleanly. They offer a good combination of hard pruning ability and detailed cutting of flowers and herbs. The cutting edge blade can be sharpened using a small sharpening stone. The spring can be replaced every few years, depending on use.
